New rat cage

Because I'm a classy broad I brought our old trashcan inside to use as a new cage for the rats. I have been eyeing since before I got the rats but never got around to do anything about it, mostly because it was firmly screwed onto a heavy plate thing that seemed stuck in the ground, but dad kindly helped me get it off with his brute strength.

The ungrateful jerks took quite a while to make proper use of their new awesome abode, but now they are climbing around it like little furry bosses.

Where's John?

Hi John!

First I considered keeping Miranda in it instead, and she seemed perfectly happy with the idea.

Edward is always trying to get to my fern!

Haha, lumpy fat Edward!

  1. Awww thats a cool cage. I wonder why do they like the fern so much? Do they try to eat it? I've had mice that were obsessed with nibbling Babies Tears http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soleirolia so I started making mini gardens in tubs for them to play in and they dug around gleefully

    1. Thanks!

Yeah, they want to eat it! They want to eat pretty much all my plants, much to my dismay! I plan to bring in a patch of grass for them in the summer so they can get it out of their system.

Ooooh Babies Tears do look extremely dig-worthy...! I don't blame them.
