Recent photos and Christmas present babble

Today I went Christmas shopping. I'm not exchanging many gifts this year, only with my immediate family (minus the brothers since I wn't be seeing them). I bought one present for Mia, two presents for myself, and one for dad that I really want for myself, and I'm mostly buying it so I can enjoy it too, haaahaaaa. I'm a nice person!

Work is getting hectic because of the Christmas shopping. It's quite nice when there's a lot of stuff going on, time moves faster and you get into a nice sort of flow. If it weren't for all the rude stressed out people who act like the world will end if they can't get that particular dvd in time for Christmas it's pretty much all enjoyable. I automatically go into an extremely service-minded and pleasant mode around Christmas. As much as I have my issues with consumerism and the compulsiveness of it all it's still sort of heartwarming to see so many people care about getting the right gifts for their loved ones. And like yeah. I'm basically Buddy The Elf this time of year.

This was me today. Serious pug cheek action! Also: sleepy eyes.

This was an authentic expression, but I can't remember what caused it. I was not eating lemons.

Ummm yeah... I'm slightly obsessed with looking in through windows. Perhaps my own in particular. It always looks so cosy inside when you are out in the dark. So that's why you get this absolute gem of a photo.

My stitches! Every time I do something so the wound stings I pretend I am Harry Potter and that I am catching glimpses of Voldemort's mind. Because, you know, I'm a cool person. I have done it so much that now I automatically go "Voldemort!" instead of "ouch!"

That's... pretty sad now that I see it written down.
Lucia celebration at Miranda's daycare center last week. It was the bomb. I was prepared to die from love seeing a gaggle of kids all dressed up and singing, but I didnt even look at the other kids at all because I had to stare at Miranda with big aunty heart eyes. When I did look around me I saw dad,Miranda's dad and her grandmother having the exact same heart eyes. It's pretty interesting how much you can love a kid that isn't even yours. I had no idea about it until Miranda came along. She's just so cool and weird and hilarious and beautiful.
Dad to the left. Getting her to put the crown on even for photos was veeeery difficult, because apparently it was unbarably itchy.

This is from a while ago. I only find this post-worthy because I am wearing pink lipstick instead of my usual red. How exciting. That would be Naomi next to me, and her car around me.

  1. Nice stitches! ;) Last time I had some they were like totally invisible anwyay cos they were internal or something.

Also also I am just saying that I have indeed posted the parcel, however I am not sure if it will arrive before Christmas as I missed the last postage date that has christmas arrival guarantee by a couple of days. Hopefully it will but I think the time is running out...

I think your niece looks supercute with the Lucia crown! She also looks supercute without it, as a matter of fact.
