A Windy Picnic

Today there was a bit of a storm, so naturally I head out for a windy and rather wet picnic at Domarudden with dad and niece Miranda.

I don't know a lot about how smart kids are, and it's very possible that I am just biased because I'm related to the little munchkin, but I think Miranda is quite intelligent for a 4 year old. She is extremely attentive to what goes on around her and I'm always impressed with the ideas she comes up with. Today she gave me a whistle that came with an icecream she had eaten so I could use it to call in Jacobim if he was too far away to hear me calling. She also said that when he does come I should give him a treat. We tried it during the picnic and it worked like a charm. (I used to train him with a whistle so it was no surprise to me, but Miranda didn't know that.)  She later gave me a second one that I could put in a different jacket in case I forgot the first one at home.

Daaaad! :D

An abundance of photos after the jump.

I personally prefer to take the first swim of the year when the ice is gone, but to each their own.

She got a bit wet, hence her pained expression. Dad's expression remains a mystery.

This is her drawing a letter from the registration number of the car next to ours. I think it was  J.

Asleep in the car as we got back home.
